Consider the heart-wrenching story of a 5-year-old child who suffered severe burns to both hands three years ago after accidentally placing them in boiling water. The road to recovery seemed daunting, but thanks to the collaboration facilitated by Ohana One’s remote technology, Dr. Seif Nuru and Dr. Chris Conner were able to join forces and provide the best possible care for the young patient. Dr. Nuru faced a complex case involving a young patient born with a large cyst hygroma, a benign multilocular cyst that hindered eating and normal growth. Through the combined efforts of Dr. Nuru and his team, the surgery was a resounding success, giving the child hope for a better future. Dr. Conner, through the use of smart glasses, was able to observe and participate remotely, providing valuable insights and boosting the surgical team’s confidence. Dr. Conner humbly acknowledges Dr. Nuru’s expertise while recognizing the small but significant role he played in the surgery. This procedure aims to help a burn patient heal and regain functionality. Typically, patients in similar situations face a wait time of 2-3 years, with some never receiving the treatment they desperately need.
