We are proud to share the launch of a new chapter in Ohana One’s work to expand access to safe, high-quality care, the Ohana One Global Nursing Education Series. This program reflects a core belief that guides all of our work, when we invest in training and supporting healthcare providers, we strengthen care not just for one patient, but for entire communities.
Focused on a comprehensive approach to burn injury management, this new series is designed to equip nurses with practical, evidence-based skills that can be applied immediately in clinical settings, particularly in resource-constrained environments where specialized training is often limited.
This initiative builds on Ohana One’s broader model of strengthening health systems through mentorship, education, and technology. By expanding into structured nursing education, we are deepening our commitment to the full care team and recognizing the essential role nurses play in patient outcomes, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.
Through both in-person and interactive virtual sessions, participants engage in topics ranging from burn assessment and emergency care to infection prevention, post-operative management, and rehabilitative support.
We are especially honored to have Professor Emeritus, Katie Osborn leading this series. With more than 40 years of experience in critical care nursing and global education, Dr. Osborn brings both deep clinical expertise and a lifelong commitment to mentoring the next generation of nurses.
In alignment with Ohana One’s model, this program is structured using a Training of Trainers approach, empowering participants to share knowledge within their own institutions and extend the reach of this learning far beyond the virtual classroom.
Supported by the Ohana One App and ongoing technical guidance, participants will also be introduced to tools that enable continued connection, mentorship, and collaboration long after each session concludes.
By connecting expertise, technology, and local providers, we are working to ensure that care remains close to home and continues to grow over time. We look forward to sharing more as the program grows and to celebrating the nurses and healthcare professionals who are leading this work in their communities.
