Last month in Geneva, Switzerland, Ohana One proudly joined global health leaders at the 17th Meeting of the Permanent Council of the G4 Alliance. As both a committed member and a technology sponsor alongside Rods & Cones and Proximie, we were excited to demonstrate how our innovative remote surgical platform is dismantling barriers to training in resource-limited settings.
A highlight of the meeting was a comprehensive presentation, co-hosted by Jeanne Bray of Ohana One and Farbod Abolhassani of Ohana One partner TeleVU, highlighting how live mentorship, simulation, and real-time support are empowering surgical teams worldwide.
Meanwhile, our demonstration station was alive with curiosity and dialogue. Policymakers, program directors, and frontline clinicians gathered to witness our smart-glass technology in action, understand its integration into existing training programs, and explore new collaboration opportunities.
During the networking lunch and evening reception, numerous potential partners engaged with Ohana One to discuss how our technology could enhance their own surgical education initiatives.

To further inspire innovation, Ohana One and TeleVU contributed a complete remote surgical kit to the G4 Alliance’s technology giveaway. We were honored when Olubunmi Lawal, Executive Director of the MARCH Healthcare Initiative, won the kit, equipping her team of nurse and midwife leaders across Africa with new tools for hands-on education and advocacy.
Building on these connections, Jeanne Bray then participated in the Second Nursing and Midwifery Stakeholders Meeting at the Global Surgery Foundation office. There, she emphasized how our platform supports simulation-based learning, recorded session reviews, and leadership development, ensuring that nurses and midwives, who are the backbone of safe surgical systems, receive the training and mentorship they require.
Later, during the GSF’s WHA Side Event and in a series of dedicated collaboration meetings, we reaffirmed our commitment to equitable surgical education. By supporting GSF’s SurgHub digital platform and contributing skill-based video content via Dr. Jafarul Hanan, Ohana One is helping to build a robust, multilingual library of low-bandwidth training resources. These efforts will soon be extended through our upcoming OO app, which will centralize access to mentor-led content from around the world.
Our time at the G4 Alliance meeting underscored the transformative power of technology-driven collaboration. As we continue to refine our smart-glass platform, expand our content library, and roll out the OO app, Ohana One remains committed to empowering every member of the surgical team, wherever they are, to learn, connect, and save lives.
