Pipeline Worldwide's Sim Lab

Ohana One is honored to advance the future of surgical training by donating smart glasses to Pipeline Worldwide’s groundbreaking shipping-container Simulation Lab.

Recently unveiled at Pipeline Worldwide’s Simulation Lab Expo at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, this container is a state-of-the-art medical training facility featuring a lifelike mannequin that can simulate pregnancy and delivery, virtual-reality recording tools, and hands-on equipment for immersive practice.

Our smart glasses provide surgeons and other medical professionals with a first-person perspective of intricate procedures, enabling instructors to guide and educate in real time. By projecting crucial information and step-by-step instructions directly into the wearer’s field of vision, these devices effectively bridge the gap between theory and practice, particularly in environments where expert mentorship is limited.

In June, this lab will embark on its journey to Pipeline’s campus in Moyo, Uganda, and by January, it will be operational at the Lonyi Village Innovation Learning Center. For many healthcare providers in the region, the closest hands-on training has been more than a half-day’s bus ride away. Now, with smart glasses donated by Ohana One, combined with Pipeline’s container-conversion expertise and the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Global Center for Health Security programming, essential skills will be delivered directly to the learners who need them most.

We extend our  gratitude to Pipeline Worldwide and UNMC for uniting so many innovators; together, we are transforming medical education! This collaboration exemplifies the strength of partnerships and is just one of over 60 NGOs Ohana One collaborates with to expand access to surgical training worldwide.
